Houston Astros GM Dana Brown told the team's pregame radio show that Yordan Alvarez will play on Tuesday with Double-A Corpus Christi, be off Wednesday and then try to play back-to-back games in Corpus on Thursday and Friday.
Dana Brown said there is a possibility Yordan Alvarez could return to the Astros' lineup in the back-half of the series in Baltimore next weekend, but it sounded more like they were targeting the homestand.
Friday night Yordan Alvarez drew a walk in four plate appearances while playing seven innings in left field.
Alvarez is now 5-for-11 with three doubles, two walks, and a stolen base in three games with the Hooks as the Astros slugger rehabs a right-hand injury.
Astros manager Joe Espada said there is a strong possibility Yordan Alvarez joins the Astros for the home stand beginning Tuesday if he comes out of today’s game feeling good.
