The Astros signed catcher Christian Vasquez to a minor league contract. Vasquez played for the Astros in 2022. when He was the catcher for the Astros combined no-hitter against the Phillies, only the second no hitter in the history of the World Series. Vasquez is participating in the World Baseball Classic and should join the Astros spring training after it concludes. If he makes the big league roster he could be a reliable defensive backup catcher for the Astros.
