Christian Walker followed with a chance to help Houston add on, but popped out. Yainer Diaz and Jeremy Peña followed with strikeouts, and the Astros’ rally was suddenly over.

Houston's New Look Infield Leads Way To Spoil Twins' Home Opener

Houston (3-4) began its first road trip of the season hitting a paltry .178 with four extra-base hits. On Thursday, the Astros racked up nine hits – five of them for extra bases – powered by the revamped right side of the infield, as Brendan Rodgers and first baseman Christian Walker combined to go 5-for-7 with a home run and four RBIs.

Walker’s homer led off the second inning with Houston trailing 2-0. Shortstop Jeremy Peña immediately followed with a blast of his own to left, turning the tide for the 'Stros.
