An infield prospect from the Dominican Republic led a class of eight international free agents signed by the Houston Astros on Thursday.

Albert Fermín, 16, headlined the group of prospects who agreed to terms with Houston on the first day of the 2026 international signing period. Baseball America projected Fermín to receive the 13th-highest signing bonus in this year’s international class. MLB Pipeline ranked him as the class’s No. 19 prospect.
