The Astros announced they have extended a Qualifying Offer to LHP Framber Valdez.

The Qualifying Offer is a 1-year contract for $22.025 million in 2026.

Valdez is expected to turn it down and become a free agent.

I fell sure he will turn it down. I have mixed feelings about him leaving. I am sure he will do great somewhere else. He will be focused and want to prove his worth. At least for the first year. But I feel like what we got down the stretch was what we were going to get from him going forward. Unfocused and undiciplined. Like I said. Mixed feelings.

Framber Valdez has rejected the Astros Qualifying Offer. If Valdez signs with another team as a free agent the Astros will receive a compensatory draft pick for him following the 4th round of the 2026 MLB Draft.
