Longtime Astros pitching coach Bill Murphy is leaving the team for a job with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Bill Murphy — and really anyone from the Astros' pitching infrastructure — have long been coveted across the league. Murphy had strong overtures from at least one other team this winter, sources said.
