Carlos Correa is returning to the Astros in a blockbuster trade with the Twins, a source told MLB.com's Brian McTaggart on Thursday. The clubs have not confirmed the deal.
Correa -- who will play third base for Houston, per a source -- had to waive a no-trade clause in order to be dealt, but for the opportunity to go home, he was willing to do so. He was a World Series champion, a Gold Glover and the 2015 American League Rookie of the Year with the Astros.
I hope Carlos fits well at third base. When he first came up there was debate about him staying at SS or moving to 3B. He answered that question by remaining quick and agile. His best spot for the team is no doubt at third now. Does this tell us more about Paredes than we've been told? If his injury were not extremely serious then I think Urias could finish out this year, along with the others who are coming back from IL. Paredes may have a serious issue for the rest of his career.
The Astros are only sending a minor prospect to Minnesota for Carlos Correa. The move was made by the Twins to reduce salary expenses.

The Astros won this trade 50x over.
Correa told MINN that they were not close to agreement on contract and he requested to be traded.....but told MINN that he would only accept being traded to one team. :)
